Peso Bruto is the solo work of fat dancer Jussara Belchior that starts from the strangeness caused by the fat body in dance. It is a dance of resistance that questions the standards of beauty and behavior in the tension between shape and packaging, appearance and content. A dance that explores the materiality of the body itself as a path to empowerment, that questions the notions of fatness as a subjectivity that operates a wrong, inadequate, not allowed, not beautiful and not desirable body.
